Reflections on the 2015 Nidotherapy workshop

The 2015 workshop was unusual in that it involved the training of social workers from Montenegro, who had no previous experience of working in mental health teams, and also had never visited the UK before. They also had very limited command of English and so we needed three Serbo-Croatian speakers to help in translation.  Despite this a tremendous sense of fellowship developed during the meeting, so by the end everybody, irrespective of their backgrounds, was talking freely, interrupting with pertinent observations, and demonstrating a level of involvement and understanding of nidotherapy that was highly impressive.  We need to harness this at future workshops.
